From the label: There’s almost no question that our lives are increasingly filled with sound. Noise pollution in urban spaces is on the rise, restaurants are louder than freeways. Adding ambient music to spaces is about setting and controlling a nearly invisible emotional forcefield for yourself. Ambient music is meant to soothe you, and generally nudge your habits toward a better self. It is also increasingly used to create an “experience,” one that’s meant to connect you, in an intimate way, to your other strengths and passions. A good song has a single emotion in it. If it tries to be really happy, and then really sad, it’s confusing. Our friend Arbee does this so well... Creating a single, definitive feeling. Inner Ocean Records & Drift proudly present Gradients, a diverse collection of songs across the ambient musical spectrum. Uniting label alumni with newly welcomed producers, the Gradients compilation was curated by Cory Giordano and Dan Panarese to feature artists from around the world.
